Google Hates Facebook

Google really does not like Facebook very much at all. Top Google folks such as Larry Page, Sergey Brin, and Eric Schmidt see Facebook as one of the most threatening companies to Google’s money making business.

First of all, you have to understand how Google makes all its money. It has around $45 billion dollars in its possession. How does a company that allows people to use its service free of charge amass such incredible wealth? It does this with advertisements. The company’s “Google Analytics” and “Adword” functions have helped it gain support from advertisers who have flocked to the company in huge numbers. Google now has millions of unique advertisers who pay Google by using its Google Analytics program and who  buy words to associate their company with via Adwords.

You can easily learn more about how Google Analytics works by doing a little research and I will post some videos for you to watch that explains more about this.

One of the biggest reasons Google Analytics has been a success has been the fact that advertisers could target their customers directly. It made it easier to know who their customers are, what they are searching for, how much time they spend on your website, what they are buying, and everything else in between. This is revolutionary way of advertising.

In the past, the only option advertisers had was to buy an advertisement spot from a company and hope for the best. It was like a billboard where you shout out your ad to the world and hope to grab the attention of the people who are most interested in your product. This is how television advertisements work. It was expensive and there was a level of mystique behind advertising.

Google Analytics took away all that guessing work and gave advertisers direct information about their customers to target them specifically and efficiently. This is how Google makes all its money!

So guess how they feel when Facebook came along and is now giving them a run for their money. Facebook is now wooing advertisers because they are convincing them that their social website has a wealth of information that advertisers would die for.
